Being here in Elk City, I get to see a lot of great properties hit the market—and I’ve seen firsthand how important good photos can be to making a sale. Sometimes, the difference between a quick showing and a listing that sits is as simple as having the right pictures up front.

That lesson hit home a few years back when we sold our home in Gunnison, Colorado. Our realtor planned to start with some quick phone photos, just to get the listing live. I’d been a hobbyist landscape photographer for decades, so I offered to take some better shots. The listing went up with my photos, and we had an offer within a week.

Same thing happened with our Airbnb in Waynoka. It first went live with five cell phone pics. I knew it could show better, so I shot a full set and swapped them out. That simple change drove more interest almost immediately.

Truth is, neither of those early shoots was anything I’d brag about today. But they opened my eyes to just how big a difference good photos make. Since then, I’ve studied real estate photography, practiced, upgraded my gear, and worked hard to create photos that do justice to a property.

One of the local agents here in Elk City even suggested I turn this into a side gig—said they’re always having to wait on photographers from out of town. That sealed it for me.

I’m based in Elk City and regularly work throughout the surrounding area—typically within about 75 miles—but I’m always happy to discuss projects a little farther out or any place that seems interesting!
